Day 1: Arrival Chennai
Depart for Chennai. Arrival at Chennai, Welcome with flower garlands, Transfer to the hotel

Day 2: Chennai / Mahabalipuram (100 kms)
Morning Sightseeing tour of Chennai: Santhome church, St. George fort, National museum, Kapaleshwar temple. Later drive to Mahabalipuram. Relaxation on the beach. Overnight at the hotel (BL,D)

Day 3: Mahabalipuram / Kanchipuram / Mahabalipuram (100 kms)
Morning excursion to Kanchipuram, the golden city of thousand temples. Return to Mahabalipuram and visit the five Rathas, Arjuna's Penance, the exquisite rock temples. Overnight at the hotel (B,L,D)

Day 4: Mahabalipuram / Pondicherry (110 kms)
Morning drive to Pondicherry, En route see the relief carving depicting the descent of the Ganges and the magnificent temples on the edge of the sea, Afternoon visit of the town where the French influence is still apparent in its architecture, especially on the seafront and the French Quarter, Evening Auto rickshaw ride, Overnight at the hotel (B,L,D)

Day 5: Pondicherry / Tanjore (210 kms)
Morning drive to Tanjore, En route visit Chidambaram, later visit of the 11th century temple of Gangaikondacholapuram and Darasuram, Overnight at the hotel (B,L,D)

Day 6: Tanjore/ Trichy / Tanjore (110 kms)
Morning excursion of Trichy, visit of Rock Fort temple, Afternoon visit of the temple of Brihadishwara, the palace museum and art gallery, Overnight at the hotel (B,L,D)

Day 7: Tanjore/ Chettiand / Madurai (180 kms)
Morning drive to Madurai, En route visit to Chettinad, the homeplace of the rich merchants of the 19th century. Later proceed for Madurai, Evening ceremony in Madurai Meenakshi temple, Overnight at the hotel (B,L,D)

Day 8: Madurai
Morning visit of Meenakshi temple and the Tirumalai Nayak Palace. Afternoon free for shopping. Bharatnatyam dance programme in the evening, Bulckcart ride. Overnight at the hotel (B,L,D)

Day 9: Madurai / Periyar (140 Kms)
Morning drive to Periyar, Afternoon exploration of Periyar reserve. A range of activities are possible: boat trips on the lake, elephant rides through the spice plantations, jeep tours or you can also relax with an ayurvedic massage in the hotel (not included in the price, to be arranged at the time with the hotel). Overnight at the hotel (B,L,D)

Day 10: Periyar / Kumarakom (130 Kms)
Morning drive to Kumarakom, visit of the tea, coffee and spice plantations. Late afternoon Boatride on the Vembanadu Lake during sun set, Overnight at the hotel (B,L,D)

Day 11: Kumarakom / Houseboat
Morning visit welcomed by the crew, made up of the captain, cook, and the "ship boy" and then we set off on this traditional "house-boat" while navigating through the canals, lagoons, and lakes. On the banks, you will come across old houses made out of teak, mahogany and redwood as well as villages filled with hibiscus and bougainvilleas, rice paddies that are green and shimmering. Day 12: Houseboat / Kochi
Morning disembark at the end of the morning. Drive to Fort Kochi, Afternoon visit of Cochin: St. Francis church, Synagogue, the chinese fishing nets and the Dutch Palace. Demonstration of Kathakali dance in the evening. Overnight at the hotel (B,L,D)

Day 13: Departure Kochi
Assistance and transfer to airport for flight to onward destination
